The first vintage of Croze Viognier since 2015. The 2019 Croze Viognier is a complex, yet elegant wine with aromas of white flowers and rich stone fruit. On the palate this wine shows peach and apricot notes and a subtle minerality that adds depth. The finish is crisp and elegant creating an experience that reflects the Croze philosophy of balance and finesse.

Grapes for our 2019 CROZE Viognier came from the Clarksburg AVA in the Sacramento Delta. This region is well known for producing Viognier due to the rich souls and maritime influence. The warm days and cool nights bring intense varietal character to the fruit. Bright acidity, lush tropical flavors with intense floral notes makes this wine a show stopper.

Tasting Notes

Citrus and honeysuckle on the nose with light floral aromas. Crisp acidity on the palate with white peach and tropical fruits on the finish. The lush mouthfeel is the perfect foil for soft creamy cheeses and buttery lobster.

Vineyard Notes

The family owned Viognier vineyard lies in the Clarksburg AVA. Sustainably farmed, this vineyard is lies on the Sacramento Delta bringing warm summer days and cool breezy nights. Viognier thrives in this region as the warmer days allow the grapes to become optimaly ripe while retaining Viognier's wonderful acidity.

Production Notes

The grapes for this wine were harvested by hand and whole cluster pressed. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and did not go through malolactic fermentation. This preserves the delicate floral aromas and fruit flavors of the grapes. The wine was aged 6 months in neutral French Wine Barrels.

Soft cheeses, spicy sushi rolls and buttered shellfish.
